Socrates

Socrates was a famous teacher who lived in Greece a long time ago. He wanted people to think hard and understand the world around them. He asked lots and lots of questions to help people figure out the answers for themselves. He was so smart that some people got mad and put him in jail. He was even put to death (died) because they didn't like what he was saying. He was a brave man who wanted people to think hard and figure things out instead of just being told what to do.
