Software agent

A software agent is like a robot that can do things on its own. It's a computer program that can do things like look through information, decide how to do something, and then act on that decision with no need for people to be involved. For example, a software agent might look through thousands of emails for you to find the ones about a certain topic, and then it could delete those emails or save them in a special folder for you.
