ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Software-defined protection

Software-defined protection means protecting something with a computer program. It can be used to help make sure that our computers, phones, and other devices are secure and can't easily be attacked by hackers or viruses. For example, when you visit a website, some software-defined protection will check to make sure the website is safe to visit, and will only allow you to visit if it is safe. It also helps protect our personal details, like passwords and credit card numbers, by making sure only the right people can access them.
