ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Solanaceae

Solanaceae is a family of plants that includes many common vegetables, such as tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and eggplants. These plants all have similar characteristics, like being able to grow in a variety of different climates, and having edible parts like leaves, stems, and fruits. They also all produce berries or other fruits that contain a lot of tiny seeds, which are then spread and help the plants to grow. The solanaceae family is sometimes called the nightshade family and it is found all over the world.
