Solar Maximum Mission

Solar Maximum Mission (SMM) is a scientific mission to learn more about the Sun. It was a satellite that was launched into space in 1980. The satellite had a lot of different instruments that scientists used to take measurements and take pictures of the Sun. These measurements and pictures helped scientists learn how the Sun works and how the Sun affects Earth. SMM ended in 1989 when the satellite broke and stopped working.
