Solar furnace

Hey there kiddo, have you ever played with a magnifying glass and used it to focus the sun's rays on a piece of paper to make it burn? Well, a solar furnace is kinda like a much, much bigger version of that!

A solar furnace is a really big device that uses the sun's rays to create very high temperatures. It's made up of a large mirror or series of mirrors that reflect the sun's rays onto a small space. This small space is called the focal point and it's where all the power of the sun's rays is concentrated in one spot.

When the sun's rays are focused on the focal point, it can make temperatures rise up to many thousands of degrees Fahrenheit! This heat can be used for all sorts of things, like melting metals or generating electricity.

So, think of it like a giant magnifying glass that can make things very hot by using the power of the sun. Pretty cool, huh?
