Solid-state lighting

Solid state lighting is a type of lighting technology that uses a semiconductor material called an LED (Light Emitting Diode) instead of traditional light bulbs that use electricity to heat up a metal filament or gas in bulbs. Electricity flows through the LED and makes it very brightly light up. LEDs last longer than traditional bulbs and use less electricity, so they are a more efficient and economical choice of lighting.
