Somatics

Somatics is a type of movement therapy that helps people become more aware of their body and how it moves. Imagine you have a special radar inside your body that helps you understand how your arms, legs, and other body parts are moving. Somatics helps you learn how to use this radar and make changes so you can move better and feel better.

When we move, our brain sends signals to our muscles to tell them what to do. Sometimes these signals get mixed up and our muscles don't move the way we want them to. That's where somatics comes in! It helps us learn how to send the right signals to our muscles so we can move more easily.

Somatics also helps us relax and feel less stressed. You know how sometimes you get really tense when you're scared or nervous? Somatics can help us feel calmer and more relaxed so we can enjoy moving and playing without feeling tense.

There are lots of different types of somatics exercises you can do. Some involve lying down and relaxing, while others involve standing up and moving around. Different exercises can help with different things, like making our back feel better or helping us feel less anxious.

So, in a nutshell, somatics is a way to help us become more aware of our body and how it moves, so we can move better and feel better!
