ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Soundbar

A soundbar is like a special speaker that you can use with your TV. It's long and usually sits underneath the TV or you can hang it up on a wall. When you watch TV, the sound comes out of the soundbar instead of coming out of the TV speakers.

The soundbar makes things sound better because it has more speakers inside of it than your TV does. Speakers are little things that make sound come out of them. The more speakers there are, the better the sound will be.

When you watch TV with a soundbar, it's like you're at the movies. You can hear things that you might not have heard before, like someone whispering or a sound that's really far away.

You can plug the soundbar into the TV with a special cord or sometimes you can connect it with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. That way, the sound from the TV goes into the soundbar and comes out of it instead.

Some soundbars come with a remote control, which is a little device that you can use to turn the sound up or down or to turn it off. Other soundbars might let you control it with your phone or with your voice.

Overall, a soundbar makes your TV sound better and makes it more fun to watch because you can hear everything really well.
