Southern Negro Youth Congress

The Southern Negro Youth Congress (SNYC) was a group of young African-American activists who worked to get better rights for Black people in the southern United States during the mid-20th century. They believed that all people deserved to be treated equally, regardless of race. The SNYC organized protests, marches, and other events to support their cause. They also wrote pamphlets and articles, and held workshops and conferences to educate others about civil rights and to call attention to the unequal treatment of Black people. By working together, they hoped to create a better future for African-Americans in the South.
