Space (punctuation)

Hi there! Today, we're going to talk about space. No, not the space up in the stars - we're going to talk about space in writing.

Sometimes when we write words, we need to use little marks called punctuation to help people understand what we're trying to say. You might have seen some of these marks before - like periods, question marks, and exclamation points.

But did you know that it's also important to use space between some of these marks? This space is called a "space".

When we write a sentence, we use a space after each period, question mark, or exclamation point. This helps make our writing easier to read and understand.

For example, let's say we write the following sentence: "I like bananas."

That's great - we used a period at the end of the sentence to show that it's finished. But if we write the same sentence like this: "I like bananas." it's harder to read, because there's no space after the period.

So remember - when you're writing, make sure to use spaces after periods, question marks, exclamation points, and other punctuation marks. It might seem like a small thing, but it really does make a big difference!
