Spaghetti-tree hoax

A spaghetti-tree hoax is something that happened a long time ago on television. It was a joke where people pretended that spaghetti grew on trees. They showed a 'scientist' (someone who studies things) saying that spaghetti grows on trees and then they showed a farmer harvesting the spaghetti from a tree. But it was not true at all! Spaghetti is made from wheat and water, not from trees! The people on television were pretending to make it seem like spaghetti comes from trees. They were trying to trick people and make them laugh. It was the first time that people had seen a joke on the television and it was very popular!
