Spanish colonization of the Americas

Spanish colonization of the Americas was when people from a country called Spain sailed to different parts of the Americas and set up colonies. They brought with them their language (Spanish), religion (Catholic), and culture. They built towns and cities, farmed the land, and traded goods. They also enslaved many native people who already lived in the Americas. They were there for hundreds of years, until other European countries, such as England, started to arrive in the Americas.
