ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Spark arrestor

A spark arrestor is a special contraption that goes on the end of things that make fire, like a fireplace or a machine that uses gasoline. It's like a filter that catches tiny pieces of fire that might come out of the fire-making thing and could start a bigger fire somewhere else.

The inside of the spark arrestor has little holes that let the flames go through, but not the tiny bits of fire that could fly out and cause a big problem. Imagine if you had a strainer that let water go through but caught all the big pieces of food in your soup. It's kind of like that!

By using a spark arrestor, we are making sure that we are keeping our homes and the world safe from fires. That way we can enjoy fires without worrying about them causing trouble!
