Spatial heterogeneity

Spatial heterogeneity is simply a way of saying that something is not the same at different places. For example, the farm outside your house might have lots of animals - cows, pigs, and chickens, but the farm up the road might have different animals - horses, ducks, and goats. That difference is spatial heterogeneity.
