Special Envoy of the Secretary-General

Okay kiddo, imagine you are playing a game and you have a special friend who helps you out when you have a problem or need some extra help to win. The special envoy of the secretary-general is kind of like that friend for the United Nations.

The United Nations is a big group of countries that work together to keep the world a safe and peaceful place. The secretary-general is like the boss of the United Nations. They have a really important job of making sure all the countries are working together and following the rules.

When there is a problem or a situation that the United Nations needs to address, the secretary-general can send a special envoy to help out. This person is like a really important messenger who can travel to different countries and talk to important people.

The special envoy is chosen because they have a lot of experience and knowledge in a specific area. For example, they might be an expert in human rights, or they might know a lot about peace negotiations.

The special envoy's job is to listen to everyone involved in the problem or situation and try to find a solution that everyone can agree on. They might have to travel to different countries to talk to important leaders, or they might have to talk to regular people who are affected by the problem.

Once the special envoy has talked to everyone, they report back to the secretary-general and suggest a plan of action. Then the secretary-general can work with the countries to put the plan into action and hopefully solve the problem.

So basically, the special envoy is a really important helper who travels around and talks to lots of people to try to solve important problems for the United Nations.
