The Earth is a big round ball like a basketball, soccer ball, or an apple. It is round because gravity pulls everything towards its center like when you let go of a ball and it rolls down into the middle of a bowl. The same thing happens when you put something on the ground, it rolls down because of the force of gravity. The Earth is also round because it rotates in a circle around the Sun every day. Its round shape also helps the Earth stay at a good temperature because the Sun's heat is spread across its surface so none of the places on Earth get too hot or too cold.
