Squatting in the United States

Have you ever seen someone sit down and then stand up again in a certain way that looks like they're exercising their legs? That is called a squat!

Well, some people do squats a lot and they do it in a special place called a gym. And some people do squats a little bit differently, like when they're outside and they don't have a place to live.

These people are called squatters. They don't have a home or a place to live, so they find a spot to stay in that's not their own land. This can happen in the United States and other countries too.

Now, just because someone is a squatter doesn't mean they're bad. Sometimes people are forced to squat because they can't afford to pay rent or they lost their home for some reason.

However, squatting is not legal in the United States unless the person has permission from the owner of the property. That means if the squatter gets caught, they could get in trouble with the law.

So, while squats can be good for your legs, squatting in the United States without permission is breaking the law. It's important to have a legal and safe place to call home.
