Standard of care in English law

Standard of care in English Law is a legal term meaning that people have to behave in a way that is reasonable, careful and responsible. This means that people have to act in a way that a reasonable person would act in the same situation. For example, if someone was driving a car, they should take care to drive safely and obey the rules of the road. If they don't and cause an accident, they may be held responsible for any injury or damage caused.
