A startup company is a new business that is trying to make money by offering products or services that solve problems for their customers. Startups usually have an idea or invention that they think could be successful, and they create a plan to make their idea into a real business. They usually need money to do this, so they might look for investors—people who can give them money in exchange for a part of the company—to help them get started. Sometimes they also get grants or loans from the government or other organizations. Once they have the money they need, they can hire people to help them, get supplies, and start making and selling their products or services.
