Station bell

Imagine that you are playing in a big park with your friends and your mom calls your name to come back to her. She might shout your name or use a whistle to get your attention. Similarly, a station bell is like a big whistle that trains use to let people know that they are arriving at a station.

The station bell is usually a big metal bell that hangs from a metal frame near the train station. When a train is approaching the station, the conductor will pull a lever inside the train that makes the bell ring very loudly. This signals to people waiting at the station that the train is coming and they need to be ready to get on board.

The station bell is important because it helps people know if they are in the right place at the right time to catch their train. It also helps make sure that everyone stays safe as they board and disembark from the train. So, just like your mom's call or whistle helps keep you safe, the station bell helps keep train riders safe too.
