ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Statistical parameter

Hey kiddo!

Let's say you and your friend each have a bag of 10 marbles. You want to know how many blue marbles are in each bag.

To figure this out, you can use a statistical parameter called "mean" or "average."

To find the mean number of blue marbles in each bag, you add up the total number of blue marbles in both bags and divide it by the number of bags (which is 2 in this case).

For example, if your bag has 4 blue marbles and your friend's bag has 6 blue marbles, the total number of blue marbles is 4 + 6 = 10.

Dividing that by the number of bags (2) gives you a mean of 5.

So the statistical parameter in this scenario is the "mean" or "average" number of blue marbles in the bags.

Hope that helps!
