Status of religious freedom in Iran

Religious freedom means that people are allowed to practice their own religion without being forced to follow a different one or being punished for their beliefs. In Iran, the government is based on a religion called Islam, and people who follow different religions like Christianity, Judaism, or Baha'i are not always treated equally.

For example, if someone is a Baha'i, they are not allowed to attend university or work for the government, and sometimes they are even arrested or harmed because of their beliefs. Christians and Jews are allowed to live and practice their religions, but they are still not treated the same as Muslims, and sometimes their religious gatherings are monitored or shut down.

Overall, while there is some level of religious freedom in Iran, it is limited and not equal for all religions.
