Steam drum

A steam drum is like a big pot that is used in big machines that create steam. You can imagine it as a big round container that holds water that is heated to make steam. Just like how you heat water to make hot chocolate, the steam drum heats water, but instead of making a warm drink, it makes steam that is used to power machines.

Now, the steam drum has a very important job because it makes sure that the steam that is produced is really high quality. It does this by separating the steam from any remaining water droplets. You can think of it like a strainer that lets steam through but catches any water droplets that didn't turn into steam.

This is really important because you don't want water droplets getting into the machinery that is being powered by steam. If that happens, it can cause a lot of damage and the machine may not work properly.

So, the steam drum is kind of like a big pot that heats water to produce steam and makes sure that only steam gets sent to the machines being powered.
