Steamed bun

Okay kiddo, do you know what a bun is? It's a soft, round piece of bread that can hold yummy things like burgers, hot dogs, or even just butter and jam.

A steamed bun is a special kind of bun that's made by steaming it instead of baking it in an oven. It's often used in Chinese cuisine, and is sometimes called a bao or a pork bun.

The dough for a steamed bun is made with flour, yeast, sugar, and water. Once it's mixed together, it needs to rest and rise so that it becomes fluffy and soft.

When it's ready, the dough is formed into small balls and flattened out. Then it's filled with things like meat, vegetables, or sweet custard.

Now here's the fun part - the filled dough is placed in a special kind of pot called a bamboo steamer, and it's cooked with steam. The steam makes the dough rise and become fluffy, while also cooking the filling inside.

When it's done, the steamed bun is taken out of the steamer and ready to eat! You can enjoy it plain or dipped in soy sauce or other sauces. It's a delicious and healthy snack that kids and adults love!
