Stellification

Stellification is when something turns into a star. You know how we see shiny stars up in the sky at night? Those stars are actually big balls of hot gas, kind of like a really really hot campfire.

Stellification happens when a cloud of gas and dust gets squished together really really tightly. All the gas and dust gets so close that it starts getting really hot and starts shining like a star. Sort of like if you squish a bunch of Play-Doh into a ball, it gets really warm in your hands.

This squishing can happen for a few different reasons. Sometimes, it's because two smaller clouds of gas and dust run into each other and combine. Other times, it's because a shockwave from a big explosion compresses the gas and dust.

Once the gas and dust start turning into a star, they can start pulling in more gas and dust from around them, making the star bigger and hotter. This can keep happening for millions or even billions of years, until the star eventually runs out of fuel and stops shining. But by then, it's already made a big impact in the universe!
