Sterility (physiology)

Sterility means that a person or object cannot make babies or produce germs. Think of it like a toy that is always brand new and has never been played with by anyone else. Just like how the toy is clean and untouched, a sterile person or object is free of any germs or bacteria that could make someone sick or cause an infection. This is why doctors and hospitals use sterile equipment when they do surgeries or other medical procedures, so that there is no chance of any germs getting into the person's body.
