Stir-up Sunday

Stir-up Sunday is a special day that happens in some parts of the world, usually in the UK, on the last Sunday before the season called Advent. It's an important day because it's the day when people are supposed to start making their Christmas puddings.

A Christmas pudding is a special dessert that people eat during the Christmas holidays. It's made of lots of yummy ingredients like raisins, currants, and nuts all mixed together with bread crumbs, sugar, eggs, and spices.

On Stir-up Sunday, families will get together and take turns stirring the mixture for the Christmas pudding. They will each stir three times and make a special wish. This is because it's believed that the pudding will turn out better if everyone takes part in making it and puts a little bit of love and good wishes into it.

After the pudding is made, it's usually put away to mature until Christmas day, when it's eaten as a special treat. Some families even make two puddings - one to eat on Christmas day and one to save for the next year.

So, in summary, Stir-up Sunday is a special day when families get together to make their Christmas puddings and put some love and good wishes into them. It's a fun and yummy way to start getting ready for the Christmas holiday season.
