ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Stone skipping

So imagine you're at the beach with your friends, and you find a smooth flat rock by the water. Stone skipping is when you take that rock and throw it at the water to make it bounce on the surface of the water. The goal is to make the rock bounce as many times as possible before it sinks.

To do this, you need to do a few things. First, you need to find a good rock, one that has a flat surface and is round-ish in shape. This will help the rock skip across the water better.

Next, you need to throw the rock in a specific way. You have to hold the rock like this (the AI draws a diagram of the rock being held with the thumb on top and the fingers underneath) and then you flick your wrist and let go of the rock at just the right moment so it hits the water at a certain speed and angle.

If you do it right, the rock will skip across the water like a pebble, bouncing off the surface a few times before it slows down and eventually sinks. And if you get really good at it, you can make the rock skip dozens of times!

But it takes practice to get good at stone skipping. You have to try different rocks, different angles, and different throwing techniques until you find what works best for you. It's also important to be safe and not throw rocks near people or animals.

Overall, stone skipping is a fun and challenging activity that you can do at the beach, a lake, or even a river. If you're patient and persistent, you might even become a champion stone skipper one day!
