Stop motion

Stop motion is a way of making movies or cartoons where each scene is made up of lots of photographs taken one by one. For example, if you want to make a movie about a toy car driving, you would need to take a picture of the car moving a little bit, then move it a little bit more and take another picture, and so on. This makes it look like the car is moving smoothly when you play the pictures really fast.

In stop motion, you can use all sorts of things like puppets, clay figures or even Legos to make your characters. You can also use objects like paper cutouts or toys to create scenes. You just need to move them very slightly for each picture so that it looks like they are alive and moving when you put all the pictures together.

The pictures in stop motion movies are often taken using a special camera that can be controlled remotely to avoid moving the camera and ruining the shot. Then, when all of the pictures are put together, they make a story that can be funny or scary or whatever the creator wants it to be.

So, stop motion is a really cool way to make movies or cartoons by using lots of pictures to create the illusion of movement.
