Storm glass

A storm glass is a special type of glass that can predict the weather.

You might have heard your parents or grandparents talk about feeling the air or looking at the sky to predict what the weather will be like. The storm glass works a bit like that, but it's even more magical because it uses science!

Inside the glass, there are lots of chemicals and ingredients that react to certain changes in the weather. These reactions cause the appearance of the liquid inside the glass to change, which can tell us what kind of weather is coming.

For example, if the liquid looks clear and calm, it could mean that the weather will be sunny and pleasant. But if there are crystals forming inside and the liquid looks cloudy or foggy, it might mean that a storm is on its way.

Storm glasses were invented a long time ago by a man named Admiral Robert FitzRoy, who used them on his ships to predict the weather so that he could keep his sailors safe. Nowadays, people keep them in their homes to help them plan outdoor activities or get ready for storms.

So, in summary, a storm glass is a special glass that has lots of cool ingredients inside which react to changes in the weather, and it can help us predict what the weather will be like!
