Struffoli is a yummy dessert that people in Italy really like to eat, especially around Christmastime! Struffoli are little balls of dough that are fried in hot oil until they get crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Once they are cooked, they are coated in honey syrup which makes them sweet and sticky.
Imagine playing with play dough and making tiny little balls with your hands. Then, someone takes them from you and steps into a magical place called the kitchen. There, they drop the balls into hot oil in a pan on the stove and they sizzle and bubble until they are golden brown.
When the balls are all done and crispy, they take them out of the oil and put them into a big bowl. Next, they pour honey syrup on top of them and mix it all around so that every little ball gets coated in honey.
Sometimes, people like to decorate their struffoli with sprinkles, nuts or little candies to make them look even more special. Then, they put them on a big plate and bring them out to share with family and friends!
Struffoli are a really fun and yummy treat but make sure you don't eat too many, because they can be very filling!
