ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Stunting (broadcasting)

Ok kiddo, let me explain stunting. Imagine you are a radio station and you usually play all kinds of songs for your listeners. But sometimes, you want to get their attention and have some fun. That's when you do stunting.

Stunting is when you do something out of the ordinary or unexpected on your radio station. It could be playing a really weird or funny sound effect, repeating the same song over and over again or pretending to be a fake radio station. This is done to surprise and excite listeners and make them tune in more often.

But why do radio stations do stunting? Well, sometimes they do it to launch a new format or show, or to boost their ratings during special events like holidays or sports games. Other times, they do it just to have some fun and connect with their audience in a different way.

So, stunting is like playing a really silly game or telling a funny joke for your friends. It's something different and exciting that radio stations do to get people's attention and keep them listening.
