Sudan (region)

Imagine a very big playground where many kids used to play together. This playground is called Sudan. It's in a very big continent called Africa. But now, the kids are fighting and they don't want to play together anymore. They want to have their own separate areas to play in. So, the grown-ups who take care of the playground have decided to divide it into two parts - North Sudan and South Sudan.

North Sudan is the part where some kids speak Arabic and follow a religion called Islam, while South Sudan is the part where most kids speak English and practice Christianity or traditional African religions.

Even though the playground is divided, the kids are still fighting sometimes and it's hard for them to get along. But, the adults are trying to help them be peaceful and happy so that they can all play together again one day.
