ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

SuperPose

Okay kiddo. So, have you ever played with two pieces of paper? If you put one on top of the other, they sort of stack on top of each other, right? Well, that's kind of like what superpose means.

In science, sometimes you want to look at two things at the same time to see how they're similar or different. So, scientists might take two pictures or graphs and put them on top of each other, just like the pieces of paper. When they do this, they can see how the two things are working together or how they might be different.

Superpose is just a fancy word for putting things on top of each other to compare them. It's kind of like when you put on two different color socks to see which one you like better, except scientists use it to learn more about the world. Cool, huh?
