Superinfection

Superinfection is like when you already have a cold and someone gives you another cold on top of it. It's when you get sick again with another type of germ, even though you were already sick with one germ. It happens when your body's natural defenses (like your immune system) are weakened and can't fight off new germs as well as usual. It's why doctors sometimes give you medicine to help fight off superinfections if you're already sick.
