Supertree
A supertree is like a big family tree but for plants or animals. Instead of just one family, like your family, it shows how different groups of plants or animals are related to each other.
So let’s say we wanted to make a supertree of different kinds of birds like parrots, eagles, ducks, and penguins. We would start by looking at how each of these birds are related. We might find that some birds are more closely related to each other than others.
We would then connect those related birds on the tree, like branches growing from a trunk. The closer the relationship, the closer the branches will be together. Over time, as we learn more about different kinds of birds, we can create a really big and complex supertree that shows how all the different bird groups are related to each other.
