ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Supply-chain security

Hi there! So, you know how when you go to the store to buy something, like a toy or a snack, it comes from somewhere, right? That somewhere is usually another store or a warehouse where they keep all the things before they go to the store. That's called the supply chain.

Supply chain security means making sure that the things that go through the supply chain are safe and not messed with by bad people. Kind of like making sure your favorite toy doesn't get broken on the way to the store.

It's really important to have good supply chain security because sometimes bad people might try to do bad things to the things in the supply chain. That could mean making something unsafe to use, stealing things, or putting things in there that shouldn't be there.

So, people who work on supply chain security make sure that everything is safe from the very beginning, like when things are made in a factory. They also make sure that bad people can't get into the supply chain and mess things up.

By making sure that the supply chain is secure and safe, we can be sure that the things we buy at the store are safe and not messed with.
