ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sustainable preservation

Sustainable preservation is a way of preserving things like our environment, history, and culture without causing any extra damage or using resources that we might not have access to in the future. It means that we try to make sure that the things we protect will be able to last for many years without any harm. For example, this could be done by using renewable energy sources to power a historic building or by growing plants in a way that makes sure they don’t disturb their natural habitat. We also might use methods like restoring a building rather than tearing it down so that the original structure can still be enjoyed for generations to come.
