The Sykes-Picot Agreement was a plan made by two powerful countries in World War I, France and England. After the war, they had to decide what to do with the land that used to be controlled by the Ottoman Empire. The Sykes-Picot Agreement said that France and England would divide the area into different countries. France would have control over some of the land and England over some of the land as well. The different countries that were created were Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon. These countries are still in place today.
