Synchrotron X-ray tomographic microscopy

Synchrotron X-ray Tomographic microscopy is like taking an x-ray of something very small, like a piece of something the size of a grain of sand. It uses a special kind of x-ray called a synchrotron, which is much stronger than the kind of x-ray you get at the doctor. The x-ray goes through the sample and makes a picture of it that you can see on a computer. Scientists use this to look at things very closely, like what the inside of a tiny rock looks like or how a tiny bug is put together.
