System of measurement is like a set of rules for how to measure things. It tells us how long something is, how tall something is, and how much something weighs. For example, the most common system of measurement in the United States is called the 'Imperial' system. This system uses inches to measure length, feet to measure height, and pounds to measure weight. In other places, though, other systems are used. In the metric system, centimetres is used to measure length, metres is used to measure height, and kilograms is used to measure weight. Some countries use a mix of different measurement systems. That way, people can use the one that is most convenient for them.
