ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Szadzenie

Szadzenie is a word used in Poland to describe a fun game that children play with their friends. It involves counting and guessing where a hidden object, usually a little toy or a rock, is located.

To start the game, one child picks an object and hides it somewhere in the playing area. Then, they say "szukam, szukam" which means "I'm searching, I'm searching" and the other players start counting: "jeden, dwa, trzy" (one, two, three).

While the players are counting, the child who hid the object is trying to find a good spot to sit down nearby, so they can watch the other players searching for the hidden object without being seen. When the counting is finished, the players start looking for the object.

If one of the players thinks they know where the object is, they say "szad" and point to the spot where they think the object is hiding. If they are right, they get to hide the object next time. If they are wrong, they get a penalty, like having to skip the next turn or do a silly dance.

Szadzenie is a great game to play outside with friends and it helps children develop their counting and guessing skills, as well as their memory and attention to detail.
