T and O map

A T and O map is an old map that shows the world in a special way. Imagine that the world is a big round ball. Now, if you laid that ball flat on a table, it would be really hard to draw all the countries and oceans on it. But a long time ago, people found a clever way to show the world on a flat map. They divided the world into three parts - Europe, Asia, and Africa. They drew a big letter "T" across the map, with Europe at the top of the T and Asia and Africa at the bottom. Then, they put the letter "O" around the T, and drew the oceans and other areas around the edges.

This way of making the map helped people understand where different places were in relation to each other. It also helped them remember that Europe, Asia, and Africa were all connected. Some people even thought that the T and O shape was special because it looked like a sign of the cross. Over time, people started making maps in different shapes and styles, but the T and O map was an important beginning in understanding our big world!
