ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

TWINKLE

Twinkle is when stars in the sky seem to shimmer and flicker. Think of it like when you shake a flashlight really fast and the light bounces around. Stars are really far away, so their light has to travel a long way to get to us. Sometimes the light has to go through different layers of air in the Earth's atmosphere, and that can make the star's light get jiggled around. That's what makes the star seem like it's twinkling! It's like the star is saying "hello" to us by blinking on and off.
