ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tamasha (ablution)

Tamasha, or ablution, is a special type of washing that Muslims perform before they pray. It is like taking a little bath for your hands, face, and feet.

When you are going to pray, you want to be clean and pure. That's why Muslims do ablution as a way of preparing themselves for prayer.

The steps involved in ablution are very simple, but very important. First, you need to make sure that you have clean water available. Then, you start with washing your hands, three times each. After that, you rinse your mouth, nose, and face. Then, you wash your arms up to the elbows, and you wet your head and run your hands over your hair. Finally, you wash your feet up to the ankles.

By doing this, you are showing Allah that you respect and honor him by being clean and pure. It's like wearing your best clothes to see someone special.

So, in a way Tamasha, or ablution, is a kind of preparation that Muslims do to show their respect to Allah and to get ready to connect with him through prayer.
