ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tambo Colorado

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of the Inca Empire? It was a really big and powerful empire that existed a long time ago in South America. One of the places they ruled was a desert area called the coast of Peru.

In the coast of Peru, the Inca Empire built a special city made out of adobe bricks (which are made of mud and straw). This city was called Tambo Colorado.

Now, why is Tambo Colorado so interesting? Well, first of all, it's a really cool-looking city with a lot of red and yellow buildings. But also because it tells us a lot about how people lived during the Inca Empire.

For example, we can see that there were different areas for different activities, like a place for storing food, a place for making pottery, and even a place for important people to meet! We can also see that there were special decorations on the walls, like pictures of llamas and people.

Tambo Colorado also had a system for gathering and storing water, which was really important since it was in a desert area. Plus, there were neat little holes in the walls where they could stick a pole to hang up things like clothes or food.

Overall, Tambo Colorado is a really cool place that shows us what life was like in the Inca Empire a long, long time ago.
