Tangwai movement

So, you know how when you play a game with your friends, sometimes there are rules that you don't like? Maybe you think the rules are too strict or not fun.

Well, in Taiwan a long time ago, there were rules made by the government that some people didn't like. They felt like the government was being too strict and not listening to what the people wanted.

These people decided to work together to try and change the rules. They called themselves the Tangwai movement. Tangwai means "outside the system" because they weren't part of the government, but still wanted to make a difference.

The Tangwai movement grew in popularity and more and more people joined. They wanted to have a say in how their country was run and to make sure their voices were heard.

Eventually, the Tangwai movement was so powerful that the government had to listen to them. They changed some of the rules and even allowed more people to have a say in how things were done.

So, in summary, the Tangwai movement was a group of people in Taiwan who didn't like the rules made by the government and wanted to make a change by working together to have a say in how their country was run.
