ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Target archery

Okay kiddo, let me explain target archery to you like you're five, but don't worry, it's not too complicated!

Have you ever seen someone shoot a bow and arrow at a target? That's called target archery.

In target archery, people use a special kind of bow and arrow to hit a target that has colored rings on it. The closer to the center of the target they hit, the more points they get!

It takes a lot of practice to become good at target archery. Archers stand in a special spot called a shooting line, and they have to follow all sorts of rules to make sure they're being safe and fair.

Before they shoot, archers also have to decide how far away the target is, how they want to hold the bow and arrow, and where they want to aim. They have to use their eyes to aim, their arms and hands to hold the bow and arrow steadily, and their brains to stay focused!

Target archery can be a lot of fun, and some people even compete in big tournaments against other archers from all around the world!
