Tax collector

A tax collector is a person who collects money from people or businesses to give to the government. It's kind of like when your parent tells you to pay for something and you don't want to, but if you don't pay then you will get in trouble. The government needs money to provide services like schools, roads, parks and hospitals, so they make people and businesses pay taxes. The tax collector makes sure they get the money they need by collecting taxes from people and businesses.
